State of the art bang bang

Well it would have been state of the art in about 1640 I'd say at a guess.

Somehow I ended up with 7 canons for my Warhammer Empire army. Normally I won't put anything on the battlefield unless it's painted and these have been unpainted for quite some time. I decided I'd put them on seperate bases each, with space on each base for the 3 crew the rules specify (they're really just wound counters). My brother made the round base that the canon sits on which can be rotated to point at the target.

Also, modelling health & safety tip of the day. That knife blade that is too blunt to cut plastic is still sharp enough to cut your fragile human flesh. This message bought to you by "Ouch damn, that's a lot of blood".

High Elf noble on a griffin

I finally managed to finish the final figures from the Island of Blood set I bought back in September last year - the high elf noble on griffin and the wizzer. Happy enough with the results although were I to do it again, I'd certainly do some things differently. Might take some pictures of the wizzer later as he looks pretty good too.

Skaven Stormvermin

I have been on leave for the past two weeks, but it's nearly over. Have I been idle in this time? Hell no. These Storm Vermin will add considerably to the Skaven army. They're pretty much complete except I haven't decided on a banner yet. Here's a few pictures anyway (don't forget you can click on them to see the pictures at full size).

The Fang Leader...

And I just love the look of this guy. He sits in the back row of the pack (man these guys are bastards to rank up too) and he's got that typical skaven "there they are, go get them" look...

Aside from the Storm Vermin, I've also finished some High Elves and am finishing up my artillery train for the Nordland army. Pictures when the weather/daylight allow.

High Elf Ellyrian Reaver's finished

I finished these last week, but do you think the weather would co-operate and let me take some pictures...

They're going onto Trademe for auctioning this evening as I really don't have room for another Warhammer army in my life (nor the budget).

Esci Vietnam conversion

I'm participating in the Benno's Figures Vietnam group build and want to do about 16 figures for it. The catch is, I don't want any of them to be standard, so just painting up the Esci or Pegasus offerings isn't going to do it. So I have started to convert some figures for the job and here is the first attempt. Three Esci figures sacrificed themselves for this, two from the Vietnam set and one from the NATO pilots set. Add a bit of green stuff and Voila, Bob is your mothers brother.

Not sure if maybe the ammo pouches I sculpted from the GS are a little too big. Opinions?

High Elves Ellyrian Reaver

Finished the first one of these from the Island of Blood set today. I'll now have a go at painting the other four before I sell them off - no place for elves in my house...

Same story applies to the Wood Elves I accidentally acquired. Pictures of them next week.

Waffen SS finished at last

Well more or less finished. There are in fact two figures that still need their bases completed and a little bit of paintwork to tidy up, but they're about as finished as they'll ever be. Monday morning, they're in the post and off to their new owner. Apologies for the picture quality, it was taken in less than ideal circumstances (read as gloomy rainy day outside).

Next up, Wood Elves, High Elves, more Skaven and 1/72nd Vietnam Special Forces
